Point Pleasant is one of the largest shore towns on the Barnegat Peninsula and is bordered by the Manasquan River and the separate borough of Point Pleasant Beach. It is also home to the Point Pleasant Canal which features two bridges that raise for the many boats that pass through. Since Point Pleasant is not directly located on the beach there are many more full-time residents than part time residents which is a contrast to many of the surrounding ocean front towns.

Determining this depends on your preference of being closer to the beach or further away from the beach. The east is closer to the beach and thus busier during peak season as more beach goers come to visit.
Real Estate in Point Pleasant
Since Point Pleasant is not directly on the ocean, ocean front homes are not the most desirable but there are still water front homes, which can be on the Barnegat Bay or the Manasquan River. For these waterfront homes there are two options, one being the option to have a dock or some homes even have a beach area on the river.
Homes in Point Pleasant vary in age and style. Many of the waterfront homes also have a pool that overlooks the water. As mentioned above, there are two overall areas to consider when looking for a home in Point, the east or westside of the canal.
